Christina Weiss Lurie Describes Life as an NFL Team Owner's Wife in the New Professional Sports Wives Magazine

ATLANTA, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Christina Weiss-Lurie of the Philadelphia Eagles has carved a niche for herself as one of the most successful partners and owners of an NFL football franchise.

As the 2005 NFL season begins, Weiss-Lurie appears on the cover of The Professional Sports Wives Magazine and breaks her reserved silence by sharing her story in the premiere issue.

Little is known about the multi-talented NFL team owner, including her success as a film producer. Christina has produced such films such as Game Six with Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. She holds degrees in theatre and architecture from Yale and used that knowledge to help build the Nova Care Center, NFL's crown jewel sports complex and stadium.

She describes life as Eagles co-owner with husband, Jeffery Lurie, and how their approach as co-owners and officers has been a true partnership.

Christina shares her opinion of how athletes can prepare themselves for a post-pro sports career and avoid financial hardships. She details her work with the Starlight Starbright Foundation with Chairman and mega film producer Steven Spielberg, and her support for chronically ill children.

Articles such as Weiss-Lurie's will appear in The Professional Sports Wives Magazine, a widely anticipated trade publication published by Gena James Pitts, wife of former NFL player Mike Pitts, for the newly created national Professional Sports Wives Association. The trade magazine targets over 708,000 professionals and nearly a half million wives in the sports industry and is the first publication of its kind.

The Professional Sports Wives Magazine looks at the lives of wives of active and retired professional athletes, coaches, sports executives, and team owners. It reveals the realities of life for wives and pro players and offers human-interest articles and information for the media at large, sports producers and announcers that are not shared by the players themselves.

The premiere issue is available free for 30 days at www.prosportswives.com.

In addition, the Professional Sports Wives Association, a not-for-profit association of wives of active and retired professional athletes, coaches, and sports executives, will unite wives to participate in charitable events, support not-for-profit organizations throughout the country, and participate in lunch and learn workshops and seminars on self-improvement.

The Professional Sports Wives Association and The Professional Sports Wives Magazine offer self-empowering articles and useful information for sports wives to be better helpmates to support their husband's career.
